Prior Scientific’s Supply Chain Manager, Peter Hall, raised £1,266.25 from a 24-hour gaming challenge in support of a rare cancer charity.
Peter once again undertook a gaming marathon in August 2025 to support the AMMF - the only UK charity that provides funds and research into the very rare condition Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer).
His latest gaming marathon lasted over 38 hours, with total donations pushing Peter’s fundraising efforts over £13,000 total raised for charity.
Following the event, Peter said: “Thank you all once again for your support, each year I get a little closer to helping the AMMF find a cure for Cholangiocarcinoma.”
Peter began raising money for the two charities in memory of his mother, Carol, who was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma and in 2020 sadly passed away from complications with sepsis after battling the condition for six months.
Peter and his family set up the MICA Travels fundraising group that aims to raise funds for charity by taking on various challenges such as walking the Lake District fells, Derbyshire peaks, the Three Peaks Challenge, and 24-hour gaming challenges.
Cholangiocarcinoma is notoriously difficult to diagnose early, and its cause is currently unknown, meaning more funding is needed. The AMMF is also self-funded from donations, making the Hall family’s fundraising efforts even more critical.
To date Peter has raised:
£14,607.88 (with gift aid included) for for both AMMF and UK Sepsis Trust
£12,220.00 (with gift aid included) for AMMF
£2,387.88 (with gift aid included) for UK Sepsis Trust
Peter added: “My next milestone will now be the £15,000 mark I am hoping that I will hit this by the end of 2026. Just totalling this up have baffled me how I’ve managed to achieve this! It was a happy feeling to see this on the day after the anniversary of my mums passing.”
